July was a great month, if a hot one. I used up a big portion of my vacation time this month, which gave me a lot of time to relax, catch up around the house, and of course read. I am happy that I read 2 of the 3 books I had on my July TBR. Below is a list of books I read, followed by their rating. I have also linked the books that have posts on my blog. If you want to see what I had to say about the others, you can always find that on my GoodReads account. Keeping this short and sweet… Continue reading
Omg guys…have you heard of BookOutlet.com?! Where has it been all of my life?? I recently discovered this miraculous website and after doing a bit of research ordered my first ever book haul. Book haul is the only way to describe the amount of books I received. This is very dangerous, but not in the way you might think. I am not as concerned with the money spent, because it is very inexpensive. I am worried that this is how becoming a book hoarder begins. I don’t want to buy books just for the sake of owning books, and I could see how easy it would be to think to myself, “I have heard of that book,” and then justify buying it. I don’t have the space for that sort of book life-style. So I vow to read three-quarters of my book haul before getting another one (or at the very least half of it). Without any further ado, here are the 9 books I received from BookOutlet for less than $40.
When I began compiling this list, I was surprised how hard it was for me to muster up a group of series that I have loved. I realized that I have started a lot of series (hmm maybe that could be a future list), but there are very few that I have finished, or stuck with throughout its publishing. Series so often fail to maintain quality and meet my expectations throughout each book, but the following are series that I have enjoyed through completion or to where it stands as of now. I also didn’t include the Harry Potter series here not because it isn’t a favorite series, but rather I find it to be obvious and doesn’t need a shout out. I hope this list grows and would love to hear if you have any series recommendations! Continue reading

One of my favorite ways to spend my time (other than reading) is looking for new books to read. The amazing thing about literature is the vast sea of possibilities. Sometimes that vast sea can be overwhelming and so I need a place to start sifting through all of the options that are out there. There are easy places to look for books like best seller lists, but I don’t always find my tastes aligning with what literary fiction or thriller novel is blazing through the charts. I am in a constant search for my next great read. I keep track of books I am interested in reading mainly through Goodreads, but my high priority books to read are entered into my Bullet Journal. Although I find new books from many sources, the main ways I learn about new books come from 5 places. Continue reading
